Being a self-taught developer I am commonly asked how I got into tech and how I stay up-to-date in the industry. In this post I talk about lessons I learned in my journey to where I am today.
I've tried to write this post so many times, and I'm never quite satisfied with it. Here is a pretty extensive list of the things I keep my ear to the ground on.
I moved platforms again, here’s why
I have experimented with other managed solutions as well as hosting myself. I’m planning an upcoming post on what my journey from newbie to a more experienced technical person has taught me.
The main lesson is that doing it on your own is really great to learn, but unless it’s a business it’ll eventually drag your productivity down. I’d rather pay for someone else to manage the server, certificates and all the platform stuff. I’ll focus on content. And in my experience squarespace is the best right now.
So welcome back to the blog!
